Links

So why does the web need yet another page of links ? All I can say is, these are the websites that I find appearing in my browser most often, so there's got to be something worthwhile here.
* BBC News[www link] A brilliant news source ... you can keep on drilling down through the pages to get just the level of detail you want.
* Deja[www link] provides access to archives of discussion groups (Usenet newsgroups). I find it excellent for tracking down solutions to technical problems. Loads of other uses too.
* Google[www link] is a terrific search engine. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred it gives you exactly the page you were looking for, right at the top of the list.
* Newslinx[www link] gives a headlines summary of the day's internet news, with links to all the full articles elsewhere. Theres also an archive, and subsections giving specialised news for Web Developers, for example.
* Skinz.org[www link] Totally pointless but what great fun. Skins to change the appearance of RealJukebox (plus a load of other programs I've never heard of), Windows wallpaper, etc, etc. When you've found the page for your software, a good tip is to sort the list by popularity first, then start browsing.
... plus of course all the usual ones like Altavista[www link] and Yahoo[www link].
